Deer Diana

Formerly, an old piano factory; the revival and restoration of a classic building at 642 King Street West to be a new office and retail space breaths new life into this quarter of the city.  In addition to building renovations, the restoration will create an integrated network of public laneways showcasing public art.

Uruguayan artist Alfalfa, created Deer Diana with the assistance of local emerging artists.  The design features a hybrid human figure with the head of a deer – a quintessential Canadian animal symbolizing grace, lightheartedness, freedom, intuition, and beauty. This classic artistic representation is found in many cultures but revived in a contemporary manner.
