Building on several years of community-engaged artwork in the Dufferin / Eglinton area, STEPS is continuing to produce its “Woven” series in Walter Saunders Park.
Drawing inspiration from both the history of textile production in the area, as well as the role that the York Beltline plays in weaving the communities of Briar Hill, Belgravia, and Fairbanks together, this family-friendly series of park activities uses textile arts to get community members engaged in transforming this green space.
Join STEPS for some Public ARTivism this summer, in collaboration with artists Kate Austin and Mark Reinhart! All are welcome to bring their own fiber arts projects, such as personal knitting.
This program is supported by the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Arts in the Park Program.
