PROJECT DETAILS

Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) partnered with Tridel to revitalize the Villaways neighbourhood in North York at Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East. Part of the revitalization process is the creation and installation of a community-engaged public artwork led by a professional public artist or artist collective.

A Call to Artists was released in March 2020 and attracted over 25 Ontario-based professional artists and artist collectives to apply for the Leslie Nymark Public Art Opportunity. A jury committee of peers consisting of two public artists and three Leslie Nymark artist tenants reviewed the applications and shortlisted four artist collectives to move forward in the competition.
