Building on several years of community-engaged artwork in the Dufferin / Eglinton area, in 2018 STEPS continued to produce its “Woven” series in Walter Saunders Park.

Drawing inspiration from both the history of textile production in the area, as well as the role that the York Beltline plays in weaving the communities of Briar Hill, Belgravia, and Fairbanks together, this family-friendly series of park activities uses textile, performance, and visual arts to get community members engaged in transforming this green space.

This Public ARTivism has taken place in the summer, and past and present years has been created in collaboration with artists Kate Austin, Mark Reinhart, Bareket Kezwer, Rahul Bader,  Ahmed Moneka and Anya Mielniczek!

This program is supported by the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Arts in the Park Program.
